Class Syllabus

Welcome to the Spring 2024 Bachata class! We're excited to have you join us to explore and learn Bachata.

Dale and Minda's class will be held on Tuesday evenings and Mike and Peggy's will be held on Wednesday evenings.

Please feel free to attend both classes if you can so you can get as much practice as possible and benefit from the varied teaching styles our instructors have.

Both classes will go from 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm and will have review sessions from 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm prior to each week's class.

The classes are progressive and build on previous material, so please be sure to be punctual and attend as many as you can so you don't fall behind or have to drop out.

While Bachata is very much a couples dance, instruction will be delivered Rueda-style (think: latin square dancing in a giant circle with a leader calling each move and dancers changing partners frequently). This approach allows students to dance with many different partners quickly and easily.

We intend to teach all of the moves in the syllabus and we'll try to keep both classes in sync, but when they are taught may change based on the natural velocity and ability of the students in the classes.

The list of Bachata moves (below) will be updated Sunday evening each week. The list will include videos of all the moves that have been taught to date along with the moves we'll be teaching that week.
